Thinking Green

NorthClad® EF Series line offers assurance of a beautifully finished scheme and an environmentally friendly exposed fastener exterior cladding system. We provide a unique appearance to your project and you can rest easy knowing you are utilizing a green product with many benefits. NorthClad® EF Series panels can also assist with meeting the requirements for LEED® Certification 1 (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).

Local Cladding Materials

The panel material used in our NorthClad® EF Series have, at a minimum, a recycled content of approximately 30% (post and pre-consumer calculated total). This exceeds the requirement of 10% or 20% recycled content for LEED® Green Building Rating System under the Materials and Resources Credit 4 for New Construction. There are options available for 100% post-consumer recycled panel material. This particular product is also harvested and manufactured in the Pacific Northwest (LEED® MR Credit 5).

Local Cladding Materials

Our products and materials are 100% recyclable. This assures any waste or scrap can be diverted from landfills. As such, NorthClad® EF Series can help qualify a project for LEED® Materials and Resources Credit 2 for New Construction. When the time comes to dispose of the product, all material can be recycled and re-used, which eliminates additional strain on the environment.

Protect Local Microclimates

NorthClad® EF Series panels are available in many materials and finishes ranging from wood to steel. Color options are available with an SRI value greater than 29 as required to qualify for LEED® Sustainable Sites Credit 7 (Reduction of Heat Island Effect). Such colors will reflect the sun’s energy and reduce heat absorption, thus minimizing the impact on surrounding microclimates and habitat.

Creating Local Jobs

Our panels are manufactured in the State of Washington by local workers. We proudly promote domestic labor and provide jobs in and around the Pacific Northwest to support our neighbors and local economy.
